Behind-The-Wheel (BTW)
Road Test Information:
The Secretary of State has licensed our school to provide road tests for students completing Classroom and Behind-The-Wheel Instruction. The road test must be scheduled over the telephone and can only be conducted by road test approved instructors in our vehicles at either the Batavia or Bartlett location. The Secretary of State informed us this program is set to expire in one year, however, it could be extended. To be eligible, students must receive either an A or B in the program and students need to have completed both the classroom and Behind-The-Wheel portion. Green Light Driving School charges $40 for a road test. Only one attempt is allowed and the result sent to the Secretary of State. This attempt will not count toward the three allowed by the Secretary of State. If the student passes the road test, he or she will get the results and can take the results to the Secretary of State only after their completed course information has been entered into the Secretary of State's database. This is commonly referred to as the blue slip because at one time the Secretary of State mailed blue slips of paper to students who completed the course. You can check the status here: https://www.ilsos.gov/deccheck/. The Secretary of State will occasionally spot check students and there is approximately a 10% chance of having to take the road test even with a passing road test through our office.
